Owner Steve Inniss' friend Nathan has this to say about the store:

Steve Inniss opened his shop "Saved By Bikes" as the exclusive Canadian dealer for STRiDA - a cool, revolutionary folding bicycle. With Torontoians ditching the car in record numbers, people from all over Toronto are really interested in this cool bike as an alternative to get around Canada's biggest city. His story is a unique one - he chose to lease retail space in a downtown bank tower to bring the message directly to those who need it - working commuters. He demos the folding bikes to people all day long - especially the suits. It's sweeping Europe by storm where it's been referred to as the "rolling miracle" - and Steve wanted to bring it to Toronto to help change the way Torontoians commute. I take it on the GO Train regularly (and it creates quite a buzz!).

- folds up in less than 5 seconds
- greaseless & oil free belt made of Kevlar (no messy chain) and rustproof frame
- ability to roll when folded
- only bike allowed on GO Trains to the seat with the rider
- only bike Brookfield Place (one of Toronto's largest office space owners) now allows workers to bring into an elevator and to their desk
- fits perfectly on the TTC streetcar and subway (trust me - I do it all the time).

It's rapidly gaining popularity. People bring it on the subway, throw it in the trunk of their car, apartment & condo closets, etc.
