Ontario committee hearings on driving bills
There are open legislative committee hearings scheduled for the week of Feb 9 on Bills 118 (banning cell phones while driving) and Bill 126 (young drivers, drunk drivers, Greg's Law, etc.).
You or somebody you know may be interested in making a presentation to the committee.

I was just reading over the bills, and noticed that about 80% of the way through Bill 126 is this little nugget:
Apparently someone has decided that, since the demise of BikeShare, bicycle sharing isn't quite difficult enough yet, so there should be obstacles around helmet fit and hygeine (or noncompliance with the law).
Thanks for these details Kiwano.
I don't want to be legislated into helmet use, and having the Minister of Transport alone making a decision is too autocratic, and likely autocentric given we live in Ontcario.
Sure, helmets prevent many injuries and beyond, but I think the two fatalities this year were wearing helmets, so we need to start ensuring the overall traffic conditions are made safe vs. encasing a cyclist/blader/pedestrian in plastic against the cartillery.
What we put in our heads will protect them better than anything we put around them, although I agree with the current law for younger riders.
I choose to commute with a helmet, but not for shorter rides.
