Al Sheppard was a good man: TOBMA

The Toronto Bike Messenger Association spoke to the media ( and here) to counter the negative coverage by the mainstream media:

A local bicycle courier’s association addressed the media this afternoon during a press conference to challenge the negative media portrayal of the cyclist killed during an altercation with Michael Bryant last month.

Members of the Toronto Bike Messenger Association (TOBMA), stationed outside of Sneaky Dee’s bar on College Street, avoided speaking of the event that caused Darcy Allan Sheppard’s death, instead choosing to focus on the person he was.

“This is a person who was well loved,” said Mark Hayward, a member from the Toronto Bike Messenger Association. “It’s disturbing to see someone cast in the media in a negative light.”
