Faulty Bike Posts on Roncesvalles
So after months without anywhere on Roncesvalles to lock your bike, the city has finally installed a great number of bike posts.
The only problem is that they didnt install them very well. See photo here.
Anybody else have any news on this? I heard that they have started collecting the faulty ones. I havent been out on Ronces today to confirm though.

Haven't been out to Roncy lately, but that's certainly not the first time that this sort of thing has happened with bike posts. I remember that a few of them out on University (in front of Hydro Place--is it still called that?) were loose a couple of years ago, most of the posts in front of the College Street entrance to the Bahen Centre (at UofT) were loose a few winters before that, and at some other time I saw an article (I think in one of the weeklies, though maybe it was a blog post, or even one of the dailies), about some other patch of posts being similarly plagued.
All the other incidents got fixed up just fine after a short while; just remember never to lock to a post that moves when you lean your bike against it and you should be fine :)
You can also call 311 or use the city's 311 website to report these - having the street address is a good idea before doing that.
I was walking up Roncy on Friday and found a post and ring very securely attached to a single brick. I emailed 311.. On my way along today it looks like they've all been cemented in. I tested a couple and they didn't budge.
Unfortuately lots of people are still locking to the new trees and you can actually already see the damage to the bark. Sigh.
