University Bike Lane Vote at City Hall
The last hurdle for two major cycling related decisions is next week! Both items, which were passed favorably at a subcommittee meeting in April, are now scheduled for a final vote at the May 11/12th City Council session.
The time is NOW to let your voice be heard and to press your Councillor, and the rest of City Council, to vote YES to the items being proposed. These important Cycling Improvement proposals may fail if we do not take action! I promise you, Your Letters DO Make A Difference.
Being debated and voted on are the following two items that were passed at the April 20th Public Works and Infrastructure Committee:
Item PW 32.9 – The 2010 Bicycle Net work Program
Item PW 32.8 – The Public Bike (Bixi-Toronto) Program
Please note that the 1000 public bikes being proposed are just the start - the trick is to get this first phase implemented and then build from there.
NEWTALK 1010 will be broadcast live from there from 9:00am to 1:00pm and encouraging people to voice their opinions about this on the air!
