#26 bike route (Roselawn / Broadway)

Hey...

I need to get over to the CNIB at Bayview and Eglinton tonight, coming from Mississauga.

I would normally just take Eglinton right across, but I find that at around the Allen Rd. it gets all plugged up and very slow around rush hour.

Is the #26 Roselawn / Braodway bike route that runs just north of Eglinton worth taking? Or will I get slowed down even more with a million stop signs etc. on residential streets? I think I rode their once and thought it was scenic but slow...don't remember for sure though.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Vic

Where are you getting on Roselawn? It's pretty quick from Caledonia (ish) to Marlee, then the stop signs start. Much more peasant than Eglinton though.

I ended up just taking Eglinton because I was in a hurry (made it just on time...w00t!).

I actually didn't mind that ride at all. The hills are a bit of a killer though. Anyone who says cycling in Toronto is FLAT has never been out of downtown. :)

I rode Eglinton between 5-6:00pm, so often the right lane was in Bus/Taxi lane mode. This made it great for riding. A few places where I had to merge back in with more traffic etc.... And I passed at least 3 buses. Also passed a ton of cars around the Allen to Bathurst stretch, as it was pretty much gridlocked.

I'll check out Roselawn / Broadway again some other time.

Cheers,
Vic

to avoid traffic up to the allen just jump on the beltway trail at caledonia and eglington it starts just north of the KFC on the north side and joins up to the roselawn bike path right by the allen
