Hi,
I used to commute out to the airport all the time. Here's a route that avoids a lot of traffic/major intersections and will get you into the airport without having to go on airport road.
Take Dundas W to Scarlet Rd (north)
Go West on Eglinton on the bike path, all the way to Renforth (first road west of 427). The path on Eglinton is really good, up to the East Mall road. Then it's not so great until Renforth, but better than being on the road.
Renforth isn't the greatest, but you don't have to go very far. Be careful of people wanting to use the on ramp to the 427. You might even want to use the sidewalk, hardly anyone walks on that stretch.
As you past the rental car place on your right, turn right on to Silver Dart Dr. This is a back entrance into the airport, and usually is a lot less busy than Airport rd/Dixon.
If you're goal is Airport road, and not the airport, you can get to Airport Rd from Silver Dart (just follow signs).
Alternatively when you're heading west on Eglinton, you can go north on Martin Grove, west on Dixon to Airport road. I have biked that stretch, but people are not really expecting bikes on Dixon, and you have a lot of distracted drivers who aren't used to driving around the airport, so be careful.
Good luck!
Andrew
I'm expecting this is too late, but I'd add to that depending on where you are in the Junction, you can take the Annette bike lane west... perhaps to Runnymede (which also has a bike lane) and north to St. Clair, where you can go west to get to Scarlett Road. You can take Annette over as far as Jane, but I'd avoid taking Jane up to St. Clair, as the left turn is sketchy due to the train tracks, and Jane is quite busy with speeding traffic.
