Electric bike can extend your way easily
In this March, I am going to open my electric bike store in Mississauga. I want to give our community more choice. If you go to work by riding E-bike, you save energy and time, you don't need to have a shower before starting your work. It's no need driver license, no insurance, no gas, no parking fee, it give you lots of freedom. Based on the above advantage, so I decide to open my electric bike store. If you are interested, welcome to Sunshine Home Equipment. I will provide top quality product and service, I like to answer any questions you may have. No mater you buy from ne or fromm others. I like to help you also help ourself to protect our environment. We hope you enjoy your E-bike and enjoy your life.
I'd appreciate it if you have any comments and suggestions.
[Edit: removed links to site. I'm sure it's a worthy enterprise, but it goes against our moderation policy.]

please stay out of the bicycle lanes. you're legally bound to occupy a lane. not a bike lane. bike lanes are for bicycles, which are self-propelled.
yay for a greener version of motor vehicle traffic. it's at least a step in the right direction, which is away from our culture's reliance on petrochemical fuels.
In Ontario ebikes are considered bikes under the law. Municipalities can pass bylaws barring ebikes from bike lanes but I was not aware Toronto had such a law. Until Toronto passes a new bylaw we will be sharing the road with ebikes.
Perhaps a good suggestion for this proprietor then is to ask that he include a small leaflet with each bike purchase that requests ebike owners be sure to share the bike lanes with care and make safe and sensible decisions in the best interest of both their safety and that of those around them.
That's a good suggestion that should apply to ALL bike purchases (not just ebikes). Everyone who buys a bicycle, tricycle or ebike should be given a copy of the Can-Bike safe riding tips.
oh yes. perhaps i am misinformed about eBikes and bicycle lanes. so much for my righteous indignation. i'll have to go back to wishing that the eBike people would just be more considerate, seeing as all they are not actually propelling themselves and have frequently pissed me off.
I offer the following information in an effort to avoid another vast yet unnecessary discussion thread on e-bikes.
1. E-Bikes are allowed to use the roads in Ontario, including bike lanes and recreational trails, just like a bicycle.
2. As far as I know, only Ottawa (the NCC) has restricted the use of e-bikes on recreational trails
3. Road use falls under provincial control, so a city can't pass a law that would restrict e-bike use on a public road.
4. E-Bikes are more accurately described as an electric scooter with ornamental pedals that allow it to be classified as a bicycle, which it is not.
Please let that be the end.
You can easily avoid any "vast and unnecessary discussion" by controlling where you click .
I can't let this thread end with a completely erroneous statement (see # 4 above). Some ebikes are scooters with ornamental pedals while others are traditional bicycles with pedal assist. To claim otherwise makes me think one has an axe to grind.
I see an E-Bikes as a version of electric scooter, and an Electric or Power Assist Bicycle as a hybrid bicycle (pedal or electric). No axe here, I just think there needs to be distinctions between the two.
The vast & unnecessary comment is in reference to pervious discussion threads on e-bikes that drew hundreds of posts.
TBH the motor-head culture of entitlement follows most eScooter people around like a bad fart.
