Access to Don Valley Brick Works from northeast?
I've been looking at Google Maps and aerial photos of the Don Valley Brick Works area and I'm wondering if it's possible to get onto the trail that goes around the upper edge of the old quarry by going down from the end of True Davidson Drive. It certainly looks like there's a path or two in that area, along Bayview and across the tracks.
Any ideas?
General area map here.

For future reference, no. True Davidson Dr ends high above Bayview and while it's pretty wild and un-landscaped there, there's no trail at all.
It's been years since I poked around there, but there was a paved road that lead up to the Loblaw's (I think it was at the time) parking lot off Redway Dr.
At the bottom, you'd have to take one of the informal trails that run through the area. A lot of them are extremely gnarly off-camber slope affairs, though.
Hi Lemur,
There are a few ways to access Evergreen Brickworks by bicycle.
1) Moore Park Ravine trail descends from the newly built bike lanes on Moore Avenue to the west side of the Brickworks. Good brakes are mandatory.
2) The Loblaws Trailhead at 77 Redway Road provides access to the Crothers Woods Natural Surface Trails which traverse the west bank of the Don Valley and lead to Bayview and Pottery Road. There are a couple of technical spots, but most of these trails were built by IMBA Trail Care Crews, Toronto Parks Forestry & Recreation, and the local mountain biking community. A full suspension mountain bike is best for this terrain, though avid cyclocross riders and cautious recreational riders can do it on hardtails. Don't ride wet trails after rain - severe erosion can happen when the ground is wet.
3) Governor's Bridge Neighbourhood has a trail that drops into Moore Park Ravine trail, but it is stairs which are not rideable.
4) The Lower Don Multipurpose Trail can be picked up either from Thorncliffe via ET Seton Park, or Beechwood Road south off O'Connor. The Lower Don Trail comes out at Pottery Road, and from there it's a very short ride down Bayview on Toronto's only physically separated on-road bike lane, installed this past summer in a pilot project specifically designed to enhance bike access to Evergreen Brickworks.
Cheers,
Brian
I've biked on this route just once this summer, but don't recall seeing a physically separated on-road bike lane. When was it installed?
