Critical Mass in Mississauga???
Hi people...this is my first time posting, although I've been a reader for some time.
I would very much like to start a Critical Mass Ride in Mississauga (where I live). Although I have no idea how to go about doing so. I don't have any cycling friends in the city....and I see them scattered about here and there. I know there are lots of cyclists here...but I don't know how to get the word out.....or if anybody would even show up.
If anybody has any suggestions, im all ears.
Cheers

I wouldn't do that. Someone will run you down. Driver attitude is bad enough in the city, much less the 'burbs.
I was in Mississauga yesterday and noticed some pretty nice bike lanes. They need to be used. The whole point of Critical Mass is to have enough cyclists out there that drivers can't fail to notice and be considerate of them.
I can think of a number of Toronto bicyclists who would be happy to attend. Pick a meeting place, date and time and see who turns up. Get the word out.
Enlist Mississauga area bicycling bloggers as well as ibiketo to promote it.
For a Mississauga Critical Mass ride, contact Ed and the people putting on the Car Free Day in Long Branch this weekend. They obviously have experience with rides. Long Branch is also the Mississauga border. They are ogical interested allies.
Good luck organizing it. It is a good idea.
