Cyclist struck outside Yorkdale Mall

in

The news of a cyclist struck by a motorist outside Yorkdale Mall came quietly during the uproar of a teen colliding with a woman while biking on a sidewalk. We know the cyclist is 44 years and has life-threatening head injuries. Oddly we don't know the gender. Not much of an uproar here, because don't we expect motorists to do this on a regular basis? As for a cyclist hitting someone... whoa.

Not like the pedestrian fatality, an event so rare and yet somehow more tragic that it can get everybody's attention. I think you're right though; we're desensitized to cyclist & car collisions, which are often fatal... that is a destitute proposition in and of itself.

I suppose that the cyclist survived, in which case I wish him a speedy recovery!
