DIY speed Straps looking for help

I have been looking into making my own pedal straps in the vein of Hold Fast, mostly because it seems like it would be pretty simple to make and also I dont want to spend that much money on straps. Just wondering if anyone has any designs, suggestions or links they can share. I found this one

and I'm going to try it out tomorrow, I will update when I get them done but if anyone has any ideas lets do this. It would be nice if we could provide a great product for the community instead of paying so much for Brooklyn's.
