Fun places to ride during the G20

Now that the Feds have started to put up their "Bremner Wall" they've removed the best way for us to ride our bikes downtown: We usually follow the Martin-Goodman to Queens Quay and turn at Rees, follow Bremner to Blue Jay to Peter to Queen, and then use the Bike Lanes on Beverly to get to points further north. The "Bremner Wall" excludes THAT comfortable route.

And we won't even be able to take advantage of our AGO membership!

Also, I read the Onigara (Actually it's "Ongiara", but the Feds don't know that) ferry won't be running. This severely diminishes the number of bikes that can be taken to the Island. If you'd even be able to get there!

And I now find out I can't even go to our local park and fly a kite!

I think that my family will go to fun city for that weekend. A city where we will be able to ride our bikes to downtown, ride to the galleries and museums, ride to a park and fly a kite, and even ride by the water. And see far, far fewer RCMP, fewer city police, and far fewer Security personnel. I'm thinking of Ottawa...

I've been looking at taking the opportunity for a romantic B&B trip for the weekend in the Niagara wine country region. Some darn nice cycling opportunities in the area.
