Recommendation: a friendly Rocky Mountain bike shop?

Hello from a new member,

I live at Wellesley subway and need to find a downtown-ish shop who carries Rocky Mountain bikes. Since my experiences with bike shop staff have been iffy at best, I'd like some pointers on where I can go to find helpful employees at a shop which carries Rocky Mountain.

Google is no help finding Rocky Mountain dealers in town. The Rocky Mountain Web site only lists 4 dealers:

  • Brown's Sports & Cycle
  • Sporting Life (2 locations)
  • ZM Cycle & Fitness

Brown's has horrendous reviews (Yelp, iBegin); Sporting Life, well... I'd prefer patronizing an independent shop. ZM sounds great, but could be closer.

I believe Cyclemotive on Bathurst just south of Queen carries Rocky Mountain bikes

Ziggy at ZM is a nice guy and a big supporter of road and mtb racing in Toronto. If he's got Rocky Mountain I'd recommend him. Worth the trip. I haven't bought anything from Ziggy but a friend bought a winter bike at ZM last year and is happy with it.
