Taillights (and headlights)
Has anyone else noticed the pretty-much-complete disappearance of taillights that can be screwed into a reflector mount and just left there (the ones with the little round peg on the rear, just a little bit above/beside a mounting screw).
I've got a baby seat on my bike that completely blocks anything that could be mounted to the seatpost, and I've still got a light that can attach to the mount for the reflector that came with the seat, but when I went to look for such a light for my step-daughter (who I expect to forget/lose/have-stolen any light that isn't bolted onto her frame somehow), I get the distinct impression that pretty much the entire bike industry simultaneously abandoned this sort of mount around half a year ago.
Does anyone have any idea why there's been this mass abandonment, or (more usefully to me) where in the city I might still be able to find the sort of rear taillight I want (and for considerably less than the 10 LED Cat-Eye monsters, like I've got attached to my baby seat)?
the one i got on my daughters bike is the type that you screw on to the seat post and what i did was so that you couldn't disconect it i super glued it to the mount its a pain in the but when you got to change the battery's but it sure is easier then getting her a new light every week as the others were lost or stolen off her bike at school
