Update on South Kingsway

  1. Home

Fri, 09/14/2007 - 16:59 by herb

I got an email update from Marty of the Toronto Urban Renewal Network. Looks like the issue might be reopened to give making South Kingsway more pedestrian and bike friendly.

Hi Herb,

Everything went VERY well yesterday!! TPC voted 8-2 in favour of our recommendation -- only Saundercook (as expected) and one other opposed. Now on to Planning and Growth Committee which will mean MUCH more work but good chance EA will be re-opened. Will keep you posted.

Cheers,
MC

I've always thought it funny

I've always thought it funny that immediately north of the westbound ramp from the queensway to the south kingsway is a gravel lane leading down to the Humber River. At the foot of said lane is a boat lauching ramp. Even more oddly is a confluence of parked tank trucks in a little gravel parking area adjacent to the same laneway. I'm not saying anything but this seems to be a convenience feature for anyone wanting to "dispose" of something environment canada might have restrictions on launching into the wilds.
the pedestrian and cyclist hostility of the environs do a great deal to deter witnesses.
