Give your input on the revitalization of Union Station at the Open House, November 14th, from 12:30 to 6:30pm in the Great Hall, Union Station.
Mayor David Miller and Councillors are hosting an open house to showcase the preferred approach for Union Station's revitalization. The public is encouraged to visit Union Station to view materials, speak with staff and fill out a questionnaire with their ideas.
Union Station is undergoing some major renovations. This is a good time to provide input on cycling facilities at the station. There's been 'talk' about providing room for a "bike station" (like Chicago's bike station - god, what an amazing concept!) since the renovation of Union Station should focus on it as a multi-modal transportation hub. I cannot, however, find any mention of any bike station in the official report. The bike station idea has just been floating around and needs some people to help make it more concrete.
I suppose there are other important cycling-related changes to be considered, including: accessibility for passengers traveling with bikes and secure bike parking for those wanting to leave their bike at the station.
You can read up on it in the master plan (just don't download the really large pdf with all the chapters).
