This humble corner now connects an essential bike route: Railpath to Richmond/Adelaide

Mon, 09/05/2016 - 10:38 by herb

Tucked into the southwest corner there was a humble gate , no bigger than a door, on the Queen Street campus of CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health). So unassuming that it's hard to imagine it is the key to one of the most important cycling connections in Toronto. The Ward 19 Cycle Toronto group petitioned, negotiated and worked with Transportation Services staff and CAMH property management to improve the access by opening up a more visible gate.

Previously I looked at better protecting cyclists at intersections.

This is part 2: Doesn't help if it's hard to get to the cycle tracks

City finally proposes Peter/Beverley connection and, meh, they can do better

Mon, 03/03/2014 - 09:00 by herb

There will finally be a public meeting to look at the City's planned connections of Peter Street to Beverley bike lanes. It really should have been part of the main public consultation for Richmond and Adelaide--in fact, the City promised it would--but it's only now quickly been announced as a separate meeting, just one week before the actual time.
