There are open legislative committee hearings scheduled for the week of Feb 9 on Bills 118 (banning cell phones while driving) and Bill 126 (young drivers, drunk drivers, Greg's Law, etc.).

You or somebody you know may be interested in making a presentation to the committee.

Information on the awards:
The Bicycle Friendly Business Awards recognize and thank businesses and organizations in the City of Toronto that support and promote cycling. This support can take many forms, and includes encouraging employees, clients and customers to cycle.

The Golden Spokes are awards handed out by the Toronto Cyclists Union recognizing individual or group efforts to improve cycling in Toronto. They are a celebration of cycling and serve to illustrate how many people across Toronto are committed to bicycling and want to work together to make Toronto a more bike-friendly city.

The I Bike T.O. Awards are handed out by the I Bike T.O. bloggers to one individual and one group who have most acted as advocates for cycling in Toronto.

Velo-City is widely respected as the premier international cycling planning conference series in the world. The Conference seeks to encourage cycling as a part of daily transport and recreation. Pretty close to what I like to see in a bike-friendly city.
