The Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee is bringing in Ben Gomberg, Chicago’s bicycle program coordinator, to share his expertise and insight about that city’s success in creating a bicycle-friendly city.
Gomberg’s presentation, which is open to the public, takes place Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. in the Central Library’s Noel Ryan Auditorium. A question-and-answer session is included.

Your frustration with critical mass is merely ironic because what you describe is precisely what cyclists contend with every single day and on every ride, with the only exception being during critical mass.
Micro Cine Fest is a new film festival coming to Toronto this September 2008. Organized by the fine folks at CineCycle, it's not too late to submit films for their first annual festival. Ride to CineCycle and enjoy movies in Toronto's most Bike-friendly cinema.

It's no surprise to anyone that more people are riding bikes these days. It's in the news, the bike stores are busier than ever, and it's become harder to find places to lock your bike because of all the other bikes.
Toronto held the Cycle Messenger World Championships 2008. It was a time of alleycats, open beer, rain, wind, soggy packages, bike polo and happy spectators and couriers. Some of the countries that showed up: USA, Switzerland, Denmark, Japan, Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, Canada and maybe others.

Every once in a while you come across an article about riding your bike that just makes you smile. Like this one by Gavin Hudson entitled '17 Reasons Why Bicycles Are the Most Popular Vehicle in the World Today' I thought it made a nice companion article to the ever popular Top 10 excuses NOT to commute.
