Thanks to Michael Polanyi:

URGE CITY COUNCIL TO SUPPORT NEW BIKE LANES FOR BLOOR-DANFORTH ON OCT 22!

New commuter bike lanes may FINALLY be on the way!

On Monday, October 22, City Council will decide whether to adopt recommendations from a new report on sustainable transportation (http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2007/pw/bgrd/backgroundfile-7193.pdf).

Urge your Councillor to vote in support of the report and its recommendation for a new East-West bike corridor by 2009 AND a feasibility study for a new Bloor-Danforth bike lane from Victoria Park to Royal York!

CALL or E-MAIL your City Councillor TODAY at:

  • Telephone: 416-338-0338
  • Email: click on this link to find your councillor or if you know your councillor’s last name, email councillor_LASTNAME@toronto.ca
  • Send a copy of your email to accesstoronto@toronto.ca and ask that it be forwarded to all councillors.

Bloor Yorkville BIA

Tue, 10/16/2007 - 11:45

There was some good news on this front at the TCC meeting the other day apparently. From Take The Tooker:

There was talk at the most recent TCC meeting from none other than Adrian Heaps that there may be a bike lane included in the Bloor - Yorkville street revitalization plans. Heaps is apparently talking with Rae and the Bloor - Yorkville BIA to try to get the plans amended to include a bike lane. Some gentle goading of Kyle Rae, the councillor in ward 27, may be in order.

I am going to reproduce this post to the TTT site. Hope you don't mind. :)
