Here's a posting of occasional cycling news from across the country, and sometimes interesting things from around the world. If I missed a worthy piece, please pass it on to me.

I just came across some prior work of mine while googling a map of Crother's Woods. A while back I had set up some maps such as the best biking places in Toronto through a Google mash-up called Platial. I had also done one for bike stores, hostels, coffee shops and Bikeshare hubs (now defunct) in Toronto. I had participated in some testing of their service, thought it worked nicely enough but haven't really used it since then. Still I recommend people to try it out - it's still a fairly useful mash-up created by some bike-friendly Portland, Oregon folk.

It would be nice to round out some of the nice cycling spots in Toronto in addition to the Highland Creek trail, Humber aka Trudeau bridge, Toronto Islands, Lower Don bridge, and the "fastest hill in Toronto" (northwest of Finch and Leslie on Cummer Ave in my estimation). So maybe you'd like to join up and add your own!

The Toronto Cyclists Union is choosing a name for their soon-to-launched magazine and they’d like your help. They’re looking for a name that is fun, smart and not cliché (Spacing did a similar contest during the formative stages of the magazine).

Over 250 names were submitted. The list has been narrowed down to eleven.

Please head over to Spacing Toronto to vote.
