The Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee is bringing in Ben Gomberg, Chicago’s bicycle program coordinator, to share his expertise and insight about that city’s success in creating a bicycle-friendly city.
Gomberg’s presentation, which is open to the public, takes place Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. in the Central Library’s Noel Ryan Auditorium. A question-and-answer session is included.
As many of you know, I have been involved in organizing & attending memorials for cyclists killed in traffic in the GTA for many years. For a long time though, I always felt that something more permanent should be done to honour their memory.
Last summer, my partner Wendy Lucas offered to plant a tree in their memory along Lake Ontario. I thought it was a very touching idea. We decided to dedicate the tree to all cyclists killed in traffic in Toronto and across Canada.
Micro Cine Fest is a new film festival coming to Toronto this September 2008. Organized by the fine folks at CineCycle, it's not too late to submit films for their first annual festival. Ride to CineCycle and enjoy movies in Toronto's most Bike-friendly cinema.
